Herbal Remedy for Phlegm Cough

kencurHerbal remedy for light phlegm cough is kencur (Kaempferia galanga L.). Kencur is smallest traditional remedy compared to ginger and turmeric. Kencur has fresher flavor, white meat, but it will be stingy and spicy when chewed. As a herbal remedy for phlegm cough, kencur can be mixed with rice become galingale rice.

How to make galingale rice

  1. Take a handful of white rice. Soak in water for two hours to make rice softer
  2. Take a handful of kencur. Clean it with fresh water, it is not necessary to have kencur’s skin to be cleaned well
  3. Take soaked white rice and clean kencur to a blender, add 1/3 glass of water, and blend it well
  4. It is better to filter the blended first, but it is okay when you ready to eat kencur as it is

Take two times a day, until the cough disappears.
